Brand Introduction

Rooted in the rich cultural heritage of the Yi people in Liangshan, the independent design brand YOYO-SHARMA reinterprets traditional Yi folk crafts through contemporary design. Every accessory is handcrafted—our way of preserving vanishing traditional craftsmanship with dedication. For millennia, Yi silver ornaments have embodied bravery and light. May this Eastern mystique weave lasting luck into your life, whether it rests on your wrist or beside your ear.

In a century-old mansion, modernity and tradition engage in a dialogue. The Yi people have been forging silverware for 4,000 years—for them, silver is not just a belief in life, but also the ultimate expression of truth, goodness and beauty.

Yi ethnic silver ornaments symbolize the beautiful spiritual qualities such as purity, innocence, and tenacity of Yi girls, and also represent auspiciousness and happiness. When they are born, elders will give silver ornaments to start their life journey. During festivals, girls wearing silver ornaments look particularly radiant. The patterns on the ornaments often feature the sun, moon, stars, and other motifs. The spiral pattern represents the rotation of the sun and eternal cycle, implying life and fertility. The radiating pattern symbolizes the sun's brilliant energy, representing bravery and tenacity. Yi ethnic silver ornaments have a blessing function, embodying wishes for peace and health, protecting safety, and conveying reverence for nature and life.

We will promote our folk crafts at an exhibition on May 26th.

Wear our earrings and be a girl who shines from within ✨

In ancient heritage, witness the bravery and openness of women, and the shining beauty of femininity.

In Leqingdi Township, Yuexi County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, China, Waqu Village is known locally as “the Silver Smiths’ Village”. For generations, silver ornament processing has been the pillar industry here. However, in recent years, with social changes, most young people have gone out to make a living, and the silver - smithing skills of the older generation are facing the crisis of a broken inheritance chain. I want to stay in this mountainous area. I hope that through unremitting efforts, I can preserve the exquisite skills of Yi traditional handicrafts and let this gradually fading cultural treasure reach the world.

Are silver ornaments prone to oxidation? How to maintain them after oxidation?

Users may worry about after-sales maintenance costs.Sample response: Pure silver ornaments will naturally oxidize and turn black when exposed to air for a long time. It is recommended to store them in a sealed bag when not wearing. For oxidized ornaments, you can polish them with the cleaning cloth included in the package, or gently rub them with toothpaste mixed with water (avoid using this method on ornaments with inlaid gems)."

Will a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the ornaments be returned to the Yi ethnic handicraftsmen?

The brand has established an "Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance Fund", and 5% of the profits from each piece of jewelry sold will be used for silversmithing skill training and traditional craftsmanship protection.
